Hollie Steel: The Singer Ballerina

Britain's Got Talent has another 'talent' to make money online.

And that is through exposing their 'talents' for the world to appreciate. We have to thank the viewers and other concerned individuals who seemed unstoppable in uploading these videos in YouTube.

Now let's talk about Hollie Steel, the latest face to hit YouTube's viewing traffic. This fragile girl looked like an ordinary girl as she walked to the stage and started to move like, you guessed it from her costume, a ballerina.

But that changes as she opened her mouth and sang her piece. What used to be a 'weak' looking girl became a strong contender for this season of Britain's Got Talent. :) Take a peek on the video from YouTube.

First it was Susan Boyle, then the little cutie Shaheen Jafargholi, now comes Hollie Steel. Who will be the next BGT's darling? Now this is getting a lot more exciting for all of us who follows this BGT's season of great talents.

Will Paid Posts Still Be Viable Next Year?

I do some paid posts on my other blogs and I know some friends who are into it also. But lately, we have noticed a downturn in the paid posts opportunities in the various paid post sites.

Could this be a sign that it is coming to an end? Some people have predicted that this type of monetizing blogs is just a fad and will not last very long.

There are some indications that this could be right. For one thing, I have read that Google abhors this activity because Google believes that the majority of paid posts are written poorly and do not really provide any value. I personally believe that the search giant is going to make some changes in its algorithm so they can limit blogs with such paid posts from appearing in the top search results, or even in the results at all.

Has this already happened? Can anybody tell me if it has?

Holy Week Online Reflection

It's Lenten Season again. Let's pause from making money online for at least a week and check out how we are in terms of our faith.

I hope not to offend readers who have their own beliefs. I would just like to dedicate this post and share my thoughts about celebrating Holy Week.

I will miss going online for a week. Well aside from attending to my day job as a trainer in a call center, I also need to use my free time after office to have my own time for reflection.

Yes, I am Catholic and I believe in Jesus Christ. I may not always be present in every Sundays and Holy Days of obligation to celebrate the feast with Him, but I am trying my best to do little acts of kindness to others. Isn't that what's supposed to happen? To put your faith into practice?

How about you? What do you usually do during Holy Week?

My First Ebay.ph Experience

Have you sold stuff online? How about selling it via Ebay?

I've been thinking about giving Ebay a try. Aside from making money online, I want to experience how it is to sell something using Ebay.

So since I am too sold on the idea, I started to register in Ebay Philippines. I thought it was going to be a breeze, just like when I register for a new gmail or yahoo mail accounts.

But I was wrong.

Papa Ces witnessed how a simple Ebay.ph registration really squeezed out all the patience in me. Do you want to know why? Let me count the ways:

  • I wasn't able to register three of my preferred usernames because they're all taken

  • When I finally figured out some usernames that I can use (yahoo!), the system states that I need to enter the same information again because the supposed to be my preferred usernames (which I entered a minute ago) were already taken (wow! to think that I just...I mean just entered it on the right field for the username and confirmed that I can use it...)

  • Then when I surpassed that phase, I was told to do the same thing all over again because there's a problem with my cookies ( I should've eaten those haha!) Anyway, I already checked it guided by the instructions but to my dismay, I've found out that there's nothing to fix anyway. My Mozilla Firefox has all the cookies enabled and there's really nothing wrong (waaaa...I tell you I'm beginning to freak out haha)

  • After almost 30 mins of figuring out what's wrong, and after my nth attempt to register, then the screen showed a message about a TECHNICAL PROBLEM! (yea right, I thought so...)

Don't get me wrong guys. I've been a very patient person. I know how to take control of my emotions. But did I also say that I am only human?

And last night was one of the moments that reminded me how 'human' I still am.

I'd give Ebay.ph another try. But not for now, maybe I'll have to give it another week and hopefully it will be another experience for me then.

Of course I'll let you know. :)

For the meantime, let me know if you have the same experience with Ebay (that is if you already have an account with them)

If you're selling on Ebay, let me know your username. Who knows, I might be your next customer. :)

Got a Whole Page Ad in your Blogs?

I've just completed my 300 Entrecard drops for my call center blog. I did it quite fast because of the Entrecard toolbar that I have here in Mozilla. :) Good thing I never encountered a blogger attack site unlike last time.

But I what I wanted to share with you today is how I'm turned off by some of the blogs that have a whole page ads in it. I did not only notice a couple of them, but I remembered seeing roughly seven to ten blogs all in all (based on the list of blogs where I dropped my EC).

It just turns me off. I mean, most of the bloggers wanted to make money online. That's fine. You can show ads on your blog because those ads can also bring in money, well and good.

But what I can't stand is the fact that these blogs load so slow just because of those whole page ads running before the actual content does load on the page. It's just so sad that instead of me reading your post and leaving comments on your blog, you made me leave you, my dear blogger.

I know that to each is own, you may agree or disagree, love or hate me. But I won't visit your blogs until I know that it is your post that I will see first and not the whole page box with the X mark to close so just I can see what you have in your page. :}

22 Tips to Decrease Blog Traffic

Here are some things that bloggers do to decrease their blog traffic (if that's what they want).

Do:
  • Post nonsense stuff
  • Ignore fellow bloggers request for link exchange(s)
  • Use striking color combinations on your blog template
  • Fill your blog's empty space with too much clutter
  • Use the smallest and or the biggest font on your posts
  • Spam people as you invite them to read your blog
  • Bore you and your readers to death with your post
  • Mention all your points in one paragraph
  • Use too much jargon, deadwood phrases and gobbledygook terms
  • Pass the idea of coming up with a pillar post

Don't:

  • Submit your blog to blog directories and feedreaders
  • Post your blogroll
  • Interact with fellow bloggers (online and offline)
  • Think about your blog's theme
  • Leave a message on their CBOX and or ShoutMix
  • Think of doing guest posts on other related blogs
  • Use Plurk and Twitter to promote your blogging activities
  • Use keywords to mirror your blog's theme
  • Claim your blogs in Technorati
  • Check your Alexa blog traffic stats
  • Join Entrecard
  • Look for Blog Carnival Projects
If you have some more to add to the list, feel free to leave a comment here. ;)

Here's the list:

Lesson Learned from Alexa

Remember my concern with 24x7 Online Diva's Alexa stats?

Minutes ago, I checked my blog traffic stats online for my new dot com domain. I was surprised to see the update. Take a look at my side bar. You'll see two Alexa buttons, one for my blogspot.com and the other one for the self hosted domain. That was such a big difference in traffic right?

I felt down because I've been working so hard to get traffic to this blog. Anyway, that was a lesson learned and I'm now ready to move on.

I've got to write more posts, continue with the rest of my blogging activities. This number will change, I know... will gradually change.

Lesson learned: Start with a dot.com rightaway if you want to make money online using your blog.

Whew Alexa! ;)

Hits4pay: Earn Extra Cash by Viewing Email Ads

If you'd like to make money online, you need to find a lot of legitimate ways of doing it. You can earn through paid posts, surveys and viewing email ads.

Just like Hits4pay. They will let you earn extra cash by just spending some time to view the emails you will receive from their advertisers.

Remember that this is not a get-rich-quick-scheme of any kind. Just like any other means to earn money online, you need to still work and promote this online.

This is an original content I made to inform you about Hits4pay. But if you want a pre-approved ad copy to use, you'll get those from your Hits4pay account site when you sign up now.

When is the Best Time to Write a Blog Post?

Are you a full time blogger or doing this on your spare time?

If you're like me who juggles shifting schedules with blogging activities, then it is very challenging.

Simply because blogging isn't just about blog hopping right? If you want the 'hoppers' to keep coming back then you should offer them something new every time they visit.

It all starts with writing a blog post. Yes, for me it should be writing, not necessarily typing your thoughts in your computer.

So with all these things that we need to attend to, here are some of the best moments when we can write our next 'killer' blog post:

Before:
  • Opening your email
  • Doing blog hopping
  • Reading your reader's newest comments
  • Going out on vacation
  • Answering a paid survey
  • Checking your Paypal's latest account balance
  • Writing a paid post
  • Calling your loved ones
  • You call it a day

After:
  • Having a good conversation
  • A challenging confrontation
  • Replying on your reader's newest comments
  • Having a hearty lunch
  • Writing your latest paid post
  • Having a relaxing walk
  • Visiting a new place
  • Reading an inspiring story
  • Talking to a customer service representative on the phone
  • Coming up with other great blogging ideas

How about me?

Well now, I am eating my favorite peanut butter sandwich for breakfast as I am writing this post.

P.S. This is where I would appreciate the best blog writing moments that worked for you. ;)

24x7 Online Diva is a Dot Com Now

Welcome to 24x7onlinediva.com

Yes, I got a new hosted blog aside from several other hosted ones that I just had this year. Since my goal is to share my online discoveries and make money online, I decided to add this to my growing roster of blogs.

Why should you prefer to have a hosted blog to make money online?

  • Because you will have more flexibility in managing your blog's content and design
  • Because most of the paid blogging activities (posts, reviews, ads) prefer hosted blogs
  • Because a hosted one will give your blog a better command and positioning because of better recall from your readers
If there are some points that I missed here just share it with us okay? ;)

Warn Plagiarists with Copyscape

Do you really want to make money online? If you do, then make sure to come up with an original content on all your blog posts.

I've been into personal blogging since 2003 and professional blogging since March this year. Everytime I write a post, I am thinking of my blogging purpose. That inspires me to put my heart and make the most out of blogging about my ideas.

That's why it really bothers me when I read posts from bloggers about their content copied entirely by another blogger. This unjust act just under utilizes the copycat's intellect.

This brings me to check out Copyscape. You can place the banner on your blog to warn plagiarists from copying your content. You can also take advantage of their paid service so you can be informed right away if these copycats did a bad job again.

All of my blogs have these banners from Copyscape. How about in your blog?
